RVA Street Art Festival, pt. 1 // Overview

Today I went to the RVA Street Art Festival that has been taking place in the old GRTC depo here in Richmond since Wednesday. It’s still going on tomorrow, Sunday Sept. 15th. If you can, check it out. There are so many great murals, art installations, a half pipe available for use, food trucks and vendors, as well as an entire area devoted to people tabling for their causes, wares, and shops. The coolest part of it for me was the artists working live on their artwork. It was a good day. Here are some images I got today. More coming soon. – M. Osborn

This is the first time I’ve seen an entire rainbow (not just one side of it) in 21 years.

Father’s Day

Over two years ago I met Gary…

We took no time figuring out that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together

Now that we have a daughter, we talk about renewing that promise to each other almost daily

I wouldn’t be who I am today had I not met him and made the life we have together. I look forward to raising our daughter into the exceptional human being I know she will be.

Happy first father’s day, Gary! I love you.

Happy Father’s Day, Dave

Happy father’s day to my stepdad who, although he wasn’t perfect, was my father figure from before I started forming memories and has been ever since.

Since becoming a parent myself I genuinely understand that no one is perfect. No matter how cliche that sounds, it is true. He tried, and he still tries.

He was there when my biological father wasn’t. He was there to apologize for my mom when she wouldn’t apologize for herself or admit she was wrong.

He had good intentions, though they didn’t always come out or manifest right.

But he’s my stepdad, and my only father figure that stuck around and raised me. And he’s now a proud grandfather!

Here’s to you, Dave!
